I am having a moment of "what were you thinking" about Carlton the squirrel. I have been nothing but worried for the last two days. Is she eating enough? Is she warm enough? Is she happy? OMG....like I am not a neurotic mess most of the time anyway. I guess just new mommy stuff I am going through, but at least with a human, puppy, or kitten I have more of a clue as to what to do. I raised baby raccoons twenty years ago, and I do not remember so much worry. Of course I think they ate better for me and did not look so darn fragile and helpless. I am going to give this a few more days and if I do not feel as if she is getting enough calories I think I may have to turn her over to a wildlife care center. I know Ethan is going to be so disappointed, but I sure do not want anything to happen to her. She is just such a sweet little baby. The funny blood hound just watches me feed her now and looks almost protective of her, but that may be a ploy just to get to put her in his mouth and taste her.....lol.
