I am honored to continue my service on the House Ways and Means Committee, which works on all tax and trade measures, as well as Social Security and Medicare. I return to my position as the highest-ranking Democrat on the Subcommittee on Human Resources, which has jurisdiction over issues that relate to child care, child and family services, child support, foster care, adoption, and unemployment compensation. In addition to the Social Security Subcommittee, I am also joining the Oversight Subcommittee this Congress. I seek your good counsel on the important issues that we face as a Congress and a Committee this year.
