I am often asked what we do with the money that One Spark gets from donations. Let me first tell you what we do not do. We do not pay any salaries, no rent or building payments, no utilities, no lavish meeting, no trips, or any perks to anyone involved with One Spark Foundation. What we do with the money. 1. Feed 35,000 meals a month to the homeless or needy. 2. Provide free rides to anyone who has been drinking 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 52 weeks a year. 3. We travel the world speaking to kinds on the power of kindness and the importance of making positive choices. 100 school per year. 4. We help people with any need that we can fill. Rent, utilities, doctor, car expense and many other. 5. We ship 100 boxes of love out every month to kids with cancer and to our military service men and women. 6. We provide birthday present for kind who are truly needy. 7. We pay for funerals. 8. We ship out over 250,000 One Spark cards out a month and 50% are for free to people who cant afford them. 9. We travel the United Stated feeding the homeless and provide backpack full of everyday niceties and food. 10. We paint 15 homes a year for elderly families on fixed income. 11. We give out over 3,000 shirts a year to people who need a Spark. 12. We provide blankets, hats, gloves, socks, coats, shirts and other clothing to the needy. 13. We provide furniture to people who need it. 14. We provide baby items to single mothers and low income moms. Diapers, wipes, strollers and many other things. 15. We help provide bike to those who need them. And so much more. We do not charge a dime for any program we provide. So when I ask for help because we want to have more stuff, I ask to help those who send request every day for help. Imagine having to decide who gets helped and who does not. We are not a big name charity and we are not just a page pushing kindness. No we are doers and we are helping as many people as we can. The sad thing is that we run out of money every month by mid month. You may never build a foundation like One Spark...but your just as important as I am if you give a monthly donation. I often think that if I was working with and rescuing animals I would get tons of donations. Dont get me wrong I am a HUGE animal lover but I have to say that I do not and will never love an animal more than I love a baby or a family in need. So sorry for the rant and soap box speech this morning but I NEED YOUR HELP TO KEEP ON DOING WHAT I DO. I have often said that if I cant get the help I need...it would be much better to close the doors and lets someone else do this because it is the hardest thing I have ever done in my life having to tell people we cant help because we have no money.
