I am sick and tired of EMPTY discussions about Cuba. That’s why I avoid them. Passionate discussions where no one tells to the other: You are right. Thousands of books, blogs, articles, chats, “personalities” and the discussion going nowhere… Reality remains the SAME. EVERYBODY have an AGENDA with Cuba. The radical right wings, the progressive liberals, and the lefty revolutionaries… EVERYBODY. But NOBODY is seeking THE TRUTH. The uncomfortable AND complex TRUTH. Peoples pick and choose their battles. PEOPLES prefer the easy talk instead the complex discussion. NOBODY wants to admit wrongdoings in their side. The right co-signs EVERY “sound-bites” of the right-wing Media. Same on the Left. People in Social Media Clicking LIKES like automated robots because it is easier and safer than express your own opinion. American liberals complaining how their tax money is used BUT NOT what the youth think and feel about the Revolution. Young Cubans with a genuinely desired to make their country BETTER getting caught in an old cold war game. My QUESTIONS to EVERYBODY asking me for my thoughts in this matter ARE: Which is more important to you, the USAID plan to co-opt the ORGANIC hip-hop movement that have existed in Cuba for almost two decades… OR the REAL REASONS & ISSUES that made the Cuban hip-hop movement to EXIST on the first place? Did the USAID “created” the Cuban hip-hop movement or they just JUMPED into them to take advance of an of legitimate and organic social movement that have his OWN AGENDA that is not necessary in sympathy with the USAID agenda? Are you willing to be a part of a campaign to DISCREDIT young artists in Cuba that as a NEW GENERATION have their reasons and rights to express a different opinion or take on the Revolution? Did you PERSONALLY talked to THEM? Do you believe that NO ONE in Cuba dissent of the Government in a GENUINE way?! Show me list of those DISSIDENTS that get paid by the USAID but ALSO show me the list of those who NOT get paid. Those who dissent because they have a different political ideology. Answer those questions to me and MAYBE we can have a conversation…. USAID you did a hell of great job DIS-SERVING the American and the Cuban people.
