I am so intrigued at the level of accountability we hold the NFL to, but allow our government to go unrestricted or unaccountable. Also the root of accountability starts with the individual first, then their family, the justice system, the team and then the NFL. Lot of levels there. The justice system failed here. These people should be prosecuted and then disciplined by the team. Investigate first, file charges and be convicted or found not guilty. Then the team makes a decision. Isnt that what happened with Ray Lewis. He pled guilty to obstruction of justice in connection to the stabbing deaths of two men in 2000. I repeat, pled guilty to obstruction of justice in connection to the stabbing deaths of two men. And in my opinion the fans who gave the Rice dude a standing ovation are just as wrong as anybody. Im not going to stop drinking Pepsi or BudLite based on a NFL decision. The issue is bigger than sports people. Why dont we protest the gangsta music and videos, why dont we hold abusers accountable even if their spouse doesnt file charges. Oh well I really was looking forward to the season but now it is just a media, politically correct platform. The talk isnt first and ten but if we can the commissioner all will be good and no player will sucker punch his wife ever again. Look at society people...look around you.
