I am strongly opposed to thinking ARM will take off on DT. ARM took off in mobile because it actually solved a problem, and that problem was huge. It was the problem of getting acceptable performance in a small device with rigorous power constraints. Because it solved a problem, it took off. Now contrast this with Intel trying to get into phones. x86 does not belong there, putting x86 in a phone solves no problem. No one pulls out their cell phone and goes wow, I sure wish I could fire up Photoshop right now! or even MS Office.
