I am truly a peace loving man. I forgive quickly and easily. But I spent a lot of my youth on the streets, with fast fists, a quick temper and a damned solid refusal to be broken by this world. I like who I am now, and I am grateful to have reached a place where I can share this ridiculous amount of love I carry around with the world, and all of yall out there in my community/family. But when someone hurts a person that I love, the concrete songs ring through my head. The heart of silence that is midnight settles over me. The flash of silver, the headlong rush of adrenaline through the pulse, the contraction of muscle and the gleam of teeth under moonlight. It all comes back to me. I fight differently now. better - but i still fight. Hurt me. I am fire. But hurt my family and I will unfold the tempest. This is a hard prayer, written in an old language, but it is a prayer. It is my prayer for peace. Let us be kind to one another. Love answers all hurts.
