I appreciate the feedback Ive received from you about my vote yesterday to increase the debt ceiling. I dedicate much of my time and effort in Congress to exposing misuse of taxpayer funds and wasteful spending that should be eliminated. This will continue to be a top priority. However, refusing to raise the debt ceiling wouldnt cut a single dollar from federal spending. American families and small businesses cut costs by keeping their credit cards in their wallets, not objecting when the bill arrives. Congress should do the same.
