I called Marjorie Shedd last night as I left work on my way to see her. My intention was to pick her up and have dinner. Last week was the first week of my new job and that coupled with evening meetings meant I hadnt seen her since last Sunday. When she picked up the phone she said didnt feel well and in fact was still in her pajamas. I opened the door to her room to find a frail, sickly, elderly woman. We chatted (Ok, I rambled on about my new job) for a while and all the sudden she says I bet youre hungry. Moments later, she is getting dressed and we leave much to the astonishment of the nursing staff. At one point in the evening, she is chasing the rabbits away from what is left of my strawberry plants. The transformation was incredible. Todays message: Dont get so busy living life and forget we hold the power to transform someone elses day. -I apologize for not sharing any of her quips last night.... I was too busy savoring the moment. :-)
