I can no longer stay silent. In the wake of the Ferguson grand jury annoucement, I have seen my feed bombarded by all sorts of commentary. To the individuals that do not understand why the decision yesterday is extremely problematic... do yourself a favor and PICK UP A BOOK and educate yourself on the way the criminal justice system works. An indictment by the grand jury merely means that they have found probable cause - an incredibly low standard. If there is any issue of fact... which clearly there was in this case with the large discrepancy of facts and what actually happened, then the case ought to go to trial. An indictment is not the same as a conviction. I also find it incredibly disturbing the amount of parents that are supportive of this incredible injustice. Do you not care about the future of your children? What do you even stand for? Oh wait.... thats right, your child is most likely white or privileged in some other way that doesnt really force you to see the world through these lens. Oh... and while you are picking up that book (HA... one can dream, right?), why dont you go ahead and unfriend me in the process. END RANT. #ferguson
