I can talk about this because I know about this first hand. We all have difficulties in life at one time another. And, yes, oftentimes it seems that the bad just gets worse no matter what we do. My beloved may I say to you that when these hard things come upon us it is NOT the time to pull away from God, the church and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Pulling away from God can only result in losing trust of leadership, peace of heart and mind in God and so much ground in growth and stability in your walk with the Lord. The struggle to regain your footing after that can be overwhelming at best. The most helpful thing I can share with you is that when things seem so insurmountable that is not the time to pull away but rather to press all the more into God. Cry if you have to but, above all, seek the counsel of leadership, ask someone you know of who has gone through what you are facing now to share how they made it through. And then gain the support of a prayer partner; someone who will have your back without judgment or ridicule. Ask the Lord to show you who to be transparent with. One thing I have discovered is that the longer you stay away the harder it becomes to return. I thank God everyday for those in the body who called, texted or did a drive by to come and see about me.
