I can tell you some of the reason that these little small towns like Lee County Kentucky are having it so hard. NO MONEY!!! There are no industry in those areas to speak of and the folks that are in the cliques in each one of those towns, running the show, are afraid of growth...many are afraid they will lose their status in town and that regular folks will succeed beyond them, which will make them, just another person in town. Thats why people like Chuck Caudill and others like him, are needed in the towns county offices...that wants to see Lee County grow and the only way that this can happen, is if those running the show and the town folks work together to make a change, instead of fighting against each other. Bring in factories, new businesses, shopping, entertainment and recreation...but it all has to start with the people actually wanted to see a change in their small town and set goals to achieve these changes and actually follow through with the goals. I have always wanted to see Lee County do good and it saddens me that after all these meany years, that nothing has improved. Maybe if everyone works together to build Lee County up, more of the folks that left the town for a better life, may come back and bring their talents, experience, education and money back to the community.
