I cannot get over the response from the community. Speechless is the only word to describe everyones generosity. I know Leah, Joe and Jake are very thankful to receive well wishes, thoughts and prayers. Thank you just doesnt seem like enough to say. This is a difficult time for Jake and his family. They dont know what challenges today or tomorrow will need to be conquered. Jake loves visitors, but at this moment, I ask EVERYONE to respect their need for privacy and rest. If you would like to visit, please contact Leah personally and see if its a good time. I know everyone means well, but with the last two days, it proves Jake needs a calming environment. Once treatment begins, I beg everyone to send their well wishes to Jake here. Leah and Joe will make sure he gets them. Leah will be updating Caring Bridge and I will be more than happy to post that information on here, as well, if anyone hasnt gone to the site. Jake needs to have his health the #1 priority during this time in order to kick this monster. Hes already lost a lot of weight. Radiation and chemo are going to wear him out, make him feel blah and possibly cause endless nights for Leah and Joe. As far as donations, gift cards to Giant, Shoppers and gas stations are perfect at this moment. Medical bills are not knocking down their door right now. We are working on putting together fundraising events and working through charities. Please give us time to set these up. Unfortunately, all of these things dont happen overnight. A website is being constructed, but again, it takes time. I will update everyone as things develop. Jakes going to kick this monster!!! Thank you everyone for your love of my nephew.
