I cant believe HackShanghai has ended. After 5 months of preparation, global Skype meetings across 8 time zones, 1400 applications, ridiculous phone bills and thousands of emails, it finally came together this weekend. Last year, HackShanghai was a small, 12 hour event for NYU students in Shanghai. This year, we organized the largest college hackathon in China with teams from around the world. The quality of the projects we saw were astounding, and these amazing teams completely validated all the hard work that went into creating this event. I witnessed raw passion this weekend that gives me so much hope for the future of hackathons here. Next year, we may not be the largest hackathon in China, and that would be great. Thank you to everyone who took a chance on this brand new hackathon and helped make this event historic. Shout out to Jared, Russell, and Jian Nan for sharing your hackathon wisdom and inspiration. Volunteers and ambassadors, thank you for supporting us through promotion and logistics. And of course, a huge thank you for the phenomenal organizing team for your incredible ambition, drive, and resourcefulness. We couldnt have done it without any of you.
