I do not recall seeing any posts commenting on action taken by UNCG to press criminal charges (embezzlement, falsifying payroll) against three employees for engaging in non-work related activities while on the clock. I have seen people reprimanded or even fired for engaging in this behavior in the past, but I dont recall an employer ever pressing criminal charges for doing non-work related tasks while on the clock. As far as I can tell, UNCG is alleging that two employees embezzled roughly $500 - $1,000 each while their supervisor allegedly signed the pay sheets knowing they had engaged in these non-sanctioned activities. Thoughts? Opinions?
