I dont mean to be a grouch, but please please please dont say the March Against Climate Change raised consciousness or called attention to the issue. These are the empty platitudes used to mollify angry activists who know theyve just, once again, been duped into a corporate shit-show that has absolutely no impact on the issue or society as a whole. First off, climate change doesnt need more attention, it needs solutions other than a new speculative bukkake for Wall St. spurned on by carbon credits and cap and trade. Second, raising consciousness is not the goal of activism...effecting change is. If you think you can change anything by linking arms with Democratic Party shills and NGO jackals as you all sing from the same script, then I feel very sorry for you. I understand that maybe Im being unfair, especially to some activists who participated. But, after the experience of protesting against the Iraq War with the same war whores flanking me as were there yesterday, I have no patience for this sort of thing. Let me put it this way...some of the main groups organizing the event have done everything they can to drum up war against Syria, just as they did with Libya. ~ Eric Draitser
