Real talk: Coming from a guy who was scared to death to step out there with his writing skills only because he didnt want to face rejection from publishers, its important to realize that its okay to be scared and unsure of new adventures, new career paths, and new opportunities. But ... When opportunity presents itself and comes knockin on your door, you would be a fool to not chase after your dreams. To hear someone tell you I believe in you like you believe in me ... man, those are the sweetest words any one person can ever hope to hear aside from I love you. I dont care about fame, glory, power, or wealth. None of that has ever mattered to me. I know where I come from. Ill always remember my roots. More so, its about living out my dreams - combining my passions for writing, music, and reaching out to other people. Will this new venture explode and catapult me into a writing career? I really dont know, but itll damned sure well go to helping me get my name out there. Its better to run a risk - to toss the dice and hope for a seven or an eleven - than to sit back on my ass and never try. Am I going to abandon Corporate America for this? No, because I have to eat and I have bills to pay. I cant knowingly just step out on a limb and have my ass hanging out for all the world to see. Im gonna put my dues in and take yet another Office Space job and do the forty-hour hustle just like everyone else, but I will NEVER again allow anyone - male or female - to tell me that I am worthless and untalented and that my dreams are silly and childish. Im not a dreamer. IM A DOER. And for anyone else out there doubting themselves, all you gotta do is look to me and look at what *IM* doing. Im scared shitless, but Im doing it.
