I dont recall my birthdays ever being this tough. My best friend of 14 years passed this morning, on my birthday. Im wrecked in tears and finding it very difficult to type this. I vividly remember the day he came into our home. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him knew that he was a special dog. Full of life and always on the hunt for scraps, he would chase his tail or sit pretty in the hopes that you would offer him something. He always knew when I was upset and would always huddle underneath my arms at the top of the stairs where I would often sit. Im truly at a loss for words, I surely did not expect this. You were pretty spry for an old dog, old friend. Thank you for all your years of companionship, your never-ending sense of youthful spirit, and most importantly, making it to my birthday. I am so happy that you did not suffer, and so grateful that you made it this far. Rest Peace, my best friend, my Hershey-Bear. I love you with all of my heart and miss you with all of my soul.
