I dont watch much TV but Theodore Evelyn Ted Mosby has been one of my favorite guy on television since the first day he appeared, and ironically still is my favorite guy long after his show is over (How I Met Your Mother, that is) There are undoubtedly many great moments in the show but one of the most heartfelt moments was this speech that Ted made on that bridge @ Central Park, while he was trying to retrieve a locket from one of his crazy ex. It was a locket he wanted to give Robin on the day she weds Barney. Ted, on love: Actually, there is a word for that. It’s love. I’m in love with her, okay? If you’re looking for the word that means caring about someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you, it’s love. And when you love someone you just, you…you don’t stop, ever. Even when people roll their eyes, and call you crazy. Even then. Especially then. You just– you don’t give up. Because if I could just give up…if I could just, you know, take the whole world’s advice and– and move on and find someone else, that wouldn’t be love.
