“I don’t want to say a word unless it points the world back to You.” My surrender to God is a daily process, and truthfully a minute by minute process. As I respond to the world around me, and it seems our world is getting crazier every day, I am constantly pausing, taking a deep breath, and asking myself, “Is my response pointing the world back to God?” If I am responding in anger, if my words cause someone pain, then I am not pointing the world to God. Instead I am letting my emotions take control and choosing my own way. My total surrender came after much pain, much suffering, and a total remodel of my life. This is not what I would have chosen, but it is what I have surrendered to God, trusting that He is God, and He knows best. This surrender is not always easy, it is usually painful, and at times I am truly frightened of the unknown. All of my questions have not been answered, all of my doubts have not been settled, yet I have decided to always turn toward a hopefull heart, and I do that by turning to Jesus. There are dark moments when all I can do is whisper through my tears, “Jesus, please.” Many nights I have fallen asleep saying those words over and over, “Jesus, please, Jesus, please!”
