I feel like this is why school shootings are becoming more prevalent, amongst other issues. Although the theory of Play deprivation isnt a theory I support, this really helps explain some of the glitches effecting younger generations. Another reason I think children have unrealistic expectations of what the real world is like has to do with systems like redirection and rewards systems (these should be used for your 1-2 year old,not your 5 year old). Rewarding your child for behavior you expect of them is sending the wrong message. Allowing your child to win all the time and be right because you want them to be happy does nothing for them. If its not hard, its not parenting. A healthy dose of reality could really do younger generations a lot of good. - Lauren
