I find it interesting that people are frustrated and challenging me on why I am not a fan of the ice bucket challenge when I am a fan of it, but would prefer people to do the challenge for the right reasons and DONATE! My best example of why I believe that many are only doing the challenge to say they did it without donating {besides knowing first hand that many people did not donate} is because my eyes became wide open when my mom was dying of cancer (keep in mind I know everyone of you who cared, prayed and showed your support in anyway for my mom and our family while she was sick- it meant the world to us & we will be forever grateful and I know you know that!!) but if I am being honest, some people could not even send a card to her! And how much does that cost? $1.50! So I feel that if people cant even do a small gesture like that when someone is dying- do you really think they are going to donate to a foundation? And yes, 3 out of us 4 family members did it and we donated! I encourage/challenge you all to take the time to spend time with an aging grandparent, bring a hotdish to a family who is struggling, put that card in the mail to an old friend, offer to babysit for someone so their parents can have a date, volunteer or donate to anything your heart believes including this challenge which many of you are posting about! :)
