I give to you a perfect musical example of how my semester typically goes. First, I do some awkward and embarrassing shtick just to break the first day tension. Then we get started, pretty thunderously and well-focused. I invite participation, but its mostly me talking. We motor along just fine for a bit, then things get repetitive for a while, until I stop talking and the students take over. I make another appearance a bit over halfway through, repeating myself again, and then I let others take over for good. It seems at times like Im confused or just wandering around, but really Im just admiring how my students jam.
