I guess when people pay homage, they often err and people dont take the trouble to point or correct. KB may be a * director, but Tamil films started prefixing directors name mainly with Sridhar, not with KB as some Tamil channels suggest/say. In fact I would go even to say that Sridhar did not choose to make political films, that KB was highly indulgent in. This particular film, which was remade into Hindi (Dil Ek Mandir) apart from other languages, was probably significant because it is about a woman who had a past before marriage - a plot taken further in Nenjathai Killadhe (Mahendran) and Mouna Ragam (Maniratnam). As against the activist films of KB, I personally prefer films of Nenjil Or Alayam types. The very next song in TV was Kaathalikka Neramillai Kaathalippaar yaarumillai - such a contrast from the same director, who faced criticism for even the title (No Time for Love) and tight churidhars, nighties etc
