I have a question... It comes from my own perspective and my Christian faith, and I am not asking as if I stand in judgement... I preface the question with the fact that I am not perfect. No one is. Anyone close enough to me may easily find flaws. But when you look at yourself (REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU MAY TELL OTHERS) have you found yourself defining you by the shape of your body? By your curves, or lack thereof? by the digits in you account or your wallet? by the brand names on your clothes? by the grade of weave or its cost? by the luxuries you pile up around you? The car you drive? By your community or your social standing? Are your friends friends because of all these things? Who really loves you for you? Or do they even really know YOU. Do YOU know you? Are you just a walking posterboard for advertisements? Micheal Khors, jordans, gucci, prada, northface, etc. I was doing some self-inventory and found a truth that I am slowly coming to terms with... In this transition I am going through, after having lost everything, I am happy at the man I am becoming. I believe most of my friends at this point, love me for who I am, because all I have is me. It wont be this way always, and I am aware that as my fortunes change, so will the landscape of friends and family. I even notice friends who are friends because of my POTENTIAL, funny right? Yet, I am happy. I will not pretend in any way shape or form or alter myself to fit in or assimilate, nor to acquire attention or affection. I am never alone, always affirmed. If God is for me, who could be against me? I have the most important thing. It places my value above the standards of the world and its standards of race, class, education, looks, or whatever. Heres another question. Look down your entire page and survey the contents. It should reflect the consistency of your personality (not character), or what you allow to be seen. If your praises and affirmations to God are mixed with worldly comments, worldly pictures, racey photos, you have a lot of work to do. This is where I found my own stumbling block. There is a term used nowadays I think may fit for some of us (This includes me) who are called Christians... Are you REALLY BOUT DAT LIFE?
