I have been away from Facebook, but like everyone around the world have been deeply saddened and devastated by Mondays loss of Robin Williams and yesterdays loss of Lauren Bacall. Robert and I met Robin a number of times, and although we did not know each well he was always warm and welcoming whenever we saw him. He was a genius with an extraordinary talent and mind, but a tormented soul. How lucky we were that he gave so much of himself and shared his talent with us for so many years. Thanks for the memories Robin, you can finally RIP. Robert introduced me to Betty in 1980 and I was fortunate to get to know her well. Through the years we spent many memorable times together. When we went to see her in Woman Of The Year which Robert had turned down, the first things she said to Robert was, I really wanted to work with you. Why the hell did you turn it down? She was a straight shooter, a no-nonsense broad, who wouldnt let anyone push her around and would tell you in an instant where to go with a very colorful vocabulary. You were one hell of a dame and it was a privilege to know you Betty. May you RIP, for the time finally came and you answered Bogeys whistle. VG
