I have been wanting to paint my face for a long time but waited till the time was right and had another woman (thank you Le Rire) do it for me to my surprise last weekend. It worked to keep violence toward me at bay because when I saw it on, it brought forth my power even more so than usual. Very unusual turn of events as it happened but it has opened the door to more to come. I will be sharing part of my journey with you but shamans have an element of mystery because of the nature of the ether and our gift is not to be shared in its entirety but only with a select few. However I know sharing my path helps others to embrace their spiritual investigation and I want that for you my darling. Photo: The paint on the face is a custom used to ward off predators. It is also my connection to my path as a shaman. This is my first full spiritual marking as I said I had a partial one other time before this, last week. My next will be on the next full moon. The chosen colour indigo is for my first colour I saw with my second and first sight combined, upper head for the triumph over my pain, physical, mental , soul. The two marks on my chin represent my children, also my dual purpose here, this side of the vail and the other side as well as only half the face painted is for the earth and sky connection I have. The three dots are for the children I lost, on my forehead, the bindi is my third eye the 10 marks over my right brow are my siblings five brothers and four sisters. I have 11 over my left eye one more to represent my brother who died and is now one of my guides. There are also ten feathers in my ears for each of my siblings and I. This is not just face paint for dress up as many of you know here. This is my Shaman Journey. I choose to share it with you. I sat and played my flute and tranced while in mark. What I saw and who I spoke with is my knowledge to know but some profound realisations came with this I assure you.
