I have diabetes. I use what they call a pen, Lantus Solostar, for my injections. (I havent been able to manage using the cheaper vile and seperate needles that are cheaper.) I have recently had to up my total because I couldnt get my testing numbers down. So I use more than I did. It used to cost $42 a month for a refill. Last month it went up to $94. Today I picked up an order and it was $135. I pay $40 a month to medicare to help with the cost for all of my scripts. I take 7 and soon to be 8 pills a day for various reasons. I have been paying about $I00 out of my other pocket for the meds I do pick up. I will call medicare tomorrow to find out why the large increase but it may be that I have reached the "gap" I think they call it. That is once I reach a certain limit then I have to pay full price for the next $2000 I spend on meds. I do not believe in Obmacare but this is ridiculous! It is very costly to grow old and have several illnesses. If I were unmarried and only had social security I couldnt make it. Thank God I have a husband who is still working but he is an independent contractor and we havent be able to afford insurance for him, or extra coverage for me. Something has to be done. Thanks for letting me sound off.
