I have had an uncomfortable feeling all day like i was forgetting something. I just realized that it a special day of remembering for the ladys and men that served in the Vietnam war. I know many that served only a few that did not walk off the freedom bird back here in the world as we used to say. Ive worn a Vietnam vet hat for years and only in the last year have people made positive comments of thanks. I am humbled to speechless when that happens. So I am going to take this moment on my turf to say a proper thank you. To every child and grand child of a baby boomer I say if you feel safe at night I did my job almost 40 years ago. To every wife or husband that gave their best friend to that war I say if I could I would take their place but please accept this as my thank you for giving everything to me so I had support when you did not. To anyone that is new to this great county I say with Gods blessing I would go today to protect your family in your home land if you accepted my friendship. If you did not accept my friendship I would go still go because I have already accepted you as my friend and country man. For the peaceful people from the past that did not agree with the war I say thank you and I love you because with our joint efforts we saved lives . To the young people thinking about serving in the military I say. As a vet I would be honored if you joined the honorable ranks of the ordinary people before you that did extraordinary things. Please serve somewhere somehow. To the people of the world that many people in this great country feel are our greatest threat I say with the fullest conviction for your on destiny In Sha Allah fight amongst yourselves. For this land that we share so freely as we do our hearts and dreams, WILL NEVER FALL AT YOUR HAND. Come here in peace we embrace you come here to conquer and you will not succeed. Finally to my brothers and sisters that served in this era I say God blessed me with your friendship. You never asked for anything in return. I have nothing to give but my thank you for making my children and grand children safe. Call me and ill stand with you for freedom anywhere anytime . God bless you. Mike Robby Robertson USAF 71-87
