I have, in the past, supported use of drones in Pakistan. We are in a shooting war and fighters in Pakistan are planning and directing troops to attack members of our armed services. It has become increasingly clear that the drone campaign, which was highly targeted at Taliban leadership under George W. Bush, has become a loosely managed war of attrition against the people of Western Pakistan. According to released US Government documents, assemblies of males are sometimes hit with missiles when no other information has been obtained beyond their gender and number present. That kind of indiscriminate slaughter is not conscionable. Our military should not feel it has the license to blow a group of high school-aged soccer players to hell just because theyre gathered in one place. Given the programs mismanagement and the laxity of the Obama Administration in imposing responsible limits on bombing, I can no longer justify or support the program. It is time to pull the troops out of Afghanistan.nytimes/2013/10/22/world/asia/civilian-deaths-in-drone-strikes-cited-in-report.html?_r=0
