I have just ordered a masticating juicer. I am going to try a juicing fast, hopefully lasting about a month as I really feel like my body needs a reset. My instincts have always pushed me away from juicing so I have never really researched it properly. I also feel it is never a good idea to remove the frustose from the veg/fruit as that makes it difficult for the body to process. Besides, my few attempts at juice fasting in the past have been disastrous when after 1 juice I would be doubled up in pain for 2 days! But then I was using a centrifugal juicer (the usual type). However with masticating juicers the juice is more pulpy and the nutrients and enzymes left more intact, and it does not oxidise like it does when using a centrifugal type juicer. Also as there is hardly any heat generated, the veg/fruit becomes almost cold pressed so heat from the motor does not damage the nutrients. I am hoping this will make the difference and help me to tolerate juices - according to many reviews it does, especially those with diabetes, so I guess we will see! Has anyone else done a 1-month juice fast? I have been looking at Jason Vales recipes and plans which seem good, however he is sold out to Phillips so I take his advice on juicers with a pinch of salt, especially as he uses the centrifugal type and says it doesnt really make a difference!
