I have looked into the eyes of a child with no family to call - TopicsExpress

I have looked into the eyes of a child with no family to call their own. It is something you never forget. I have a hole in my heart that will not be filled until we adopt a child and I become a father to a child who is fatherless. My mission trip to El Salvador last year changed my perspective on life. It made me a better person. It made my desire to make a difference in the lives of orphans much stronger. It made my heart grow with even more joy and passion, knowing that God would bless me and my wife with a child someday. In a little over 24 hours, I will spend 3mins thinking about nothing but making a difference in the lives of orphans and the special boy or girl who is handpicked by God to call me, daddy and Natalie, mommy. Every year, The Push-A-Thon is always the same. I am anxious to do my push-ups. As much as it hurts my pride as a man to admit it….I am also emotional because that is what thinking about fatherhood and adopting a child does to me. That is what making a difference in a child’s life does to me. By the time the 3mins are over, I have sweat dripping from my brow, I have tears in my eyes, my arms are shaking, and I am 3mins closer to holding my child in my arms. Maybe doing push-ups for orphans will be my greatest accomplishment in life. If it is, I am ok with that. Prayers for this event and encouraging words would be appreciated. As well as prayers for the 5K Color Run, which starts at 8 AM tomorrow morning at Noble Park. To the good Lord above, I say thank you for letting me be a part of something so special! Hello, my name is Dave…..and I do push-ups for orphans.
