I have my share of criticisms of the Obama Administration but jumping on their case for handling an historic unprecedented situation which is still evolving is absurd. I’m talking specifically about the North Korean hacking/threatening of SONY and affiliated movie theaters. I’ve heard all kinds of suggestions on what should be done and chest beating declarations of noble allegiance to our constitutional freedoms. Twentieth Century responses for a 21st Century attack are not only inappropriate but useless. I hear too many opinions fueled by testosterone and relatively little based on up to date basic technical knowledge and reflective thought. The most naïve notion is that just because something doesn’t appear in the press, Obama is doing nothing. We’re living in a far more complex world than even 10 years ago. Anyone who reacts with an instant pseudo analysis based on pure emotion without making a thorough assessment is quite simply a damn fool. If you think the film should be shown in any theater or other venue (Netflix would not escape any threats either) as a patriotic duty, fine, put your money where your mouth is by footing the liability insurance bill.
