I have no problems with people seeking meaning and answers to meta-physical questions and phenomena. I wish they would do that using empirical and rational approaches. Resort to religion to provide answers to unknown phenomena has proven time and time again to be unreliable. Besides, religious methods of resolving human confusion and questions tend to be retrogressive, essentially because religion deals in doctrine and dogma. It is therefore usually inflexible and closed to reasoning it deems antithetical to its beliefs. My sole objective however, is the institution of a culture of rationality in approaching our problems as a nation. And in that respect, the current substitution of human application to resolving our problems with religious promises is a serious concern for me.
