I have seen the White Wind dancing with the new day sun. And I have seen the way that the light dances on the water when the day is done. I have known a people who love all that grows and bring the land back to life. And I have seen them sing in the fire and heard their One Souls song. Stunning footage of Icelands rushing waters and the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier - shot by my dear friend Navi Whitten with my song Oer the land, Oer the Sea. To put this in perspective: The lake (Jökulsárlón) which you see here did not exist 80 years ago. Only fallowing the temperature rise in recent years has the lagoon formed where the retreating glacier had once been. I watch the ice melt and feel an imminent choice upon us. There is no possible way to deny that our Earth is heating up and the ground beneath our very feet is shifting. Our ability to adapt, to restore, and come back into balance with Earth and the elemental forces WILL determine our fate and the quality of life we leave to our children. The wild, wild wind sang again and called my heart to be Oer the land, Oer the sea, We began our great journey. I wrote Oer the land in honor of my beloved community in Williams Oregon. In their care, presence and prayers I came back to life after two years struggling with an illness I picked up while studying abroad in India. It was in those hills that my life spark returned and this music was born.
