I havent posted for a few days so I thought Id post a couple today. Some have asked me if Ive given up the fight for our hospital, so I will make it clear-absolutely not. Let me review the events: In Sep it became clear that Dr. Redington was mysteriously absent from the staff. His patients and staff were told by administration that he was on vacation, or on sabbatical, or even away due to family emergency. We soon became aware that he had actually been shockingly dismissed by Jason Paret- a new administrator in his first job as CEO. Multiple conversations ensued, in person, by phone, by email to urge and implore the board to reverse this decision. A detailed listing of Dr. Rs education, accomplishments, contributions and dedication was published. Dr Rs physician colleagues showed amazing support and outrage by resigning from positions at BCH. This FB group was started and in a short time has nearly 800 supportive members. Newspapers, TV and radio were notified. Letters to the editor were published. Thoughtful columns and editorials were written. A community meeting was organized and drew an amazing 500-600 concerned folks in support of Dr. R. Petitions were circulated. Ernest prayers were spoken in area churches. Intense behind the scenes research was undertaken. Throughout this time, conversations continued with board members who remain unmoved by all appeals. So yes after weeks of this, I was a little discouraged. But I am not giving up. Will continue to work with all of you to reverse this injustice and restore confidence and stability to our hospital.
