I havent updated you guys in a few days and I figured now would be a good time. Carson and I continue to be blown away by all the kind words, prayers, and encouragement. We appreciate it more than I could say. I do want to ask for a special prayer for an MRI that I will have in the morning of my spine. Although the neurologist didnt seem as concerned with my spine (because most of my lesions were away from my brain stem on the brain MRI), its still is a little overwhelming to think I could have issues there too. As far as progress, I believe I have made some positive strides. We had a trip to the beach with the family that was planned long before the dx. After getting the dx and having to take off work, we felt like we still should go even though I would basically have to rest inside the whole time. I decided to take Scotty to help keep me company inside the condo while everyone was out (see pics, lol). We got down there Saturday and I spent the first couple days feeling bad and extremely fatigued. I slept most of the time and moving around any at all was difficult. After those first couple of days I felt like I gained some energy back, not having to sleep the whole day. I continued to rest inside, getting up moving around too much still caused me to have some issues. Overall, getting a lot of rest and relaxation (even though I got a little stir crazy inside the whole time) seemed to help. I did have one have major set back when we tried to go out to eat one night with some of my symptoms getting the worse they have gotten, but we were able to get them under control. We got back home today and I hope to continue to make progress and get back to a norm soon. In other updates, Im still waiting on my injections (Rebif) to be set up. They are extremely expensive and it seems to be taking the company that sets it up a little time to get it all arranged with my insurance. Also, we got some good news today that I got in with another neurologist that we were hoping I could. The day I got diagnosed, I was put with a neurologist because she was the first one that could see me that day. I like her a lot, but she doesnt specialize in MS. Carson and I both decided relatively quickly after that day that we wanted to find a specialist. We found one and thought it may take us months to get in with her, but I got the call today to set up my first appointment with her and Ill see her in a couple of weeks.
