I hesitated to share this story, but after testing the waters, I think Ive had a fair litmus test of the general opinion on the subject. Ive been watching a spider for weeks. It built a nest and web in the top corner of my sliding glass door. It was rather inconspicuous most of the time, but my eyes are closer to the top of the door than those of the others using that door on a regular basis. Therefore, you better believe I watched carefully every time I passed through, and looked back to make sure it was still where it should be. Now, Im hosting an event in my back yard tomorrow, and I anticipate more than average traffic through this door. As I dont want to give my guests the heebie-jeebies, I decided it was time for my little friend to go. I mulled over a catch-and-release plan, but feared the beast might find its way back to the glass door. Instead, I decided to make its end a quick one. I slipped on a work glove. POP. Between finger and thumb of glove, was left only a gooey mess of mangled remains.
