I hope this is the correct place to post this account. It is a summary of the first session of the Friday night Hoard of the Dragon Queen campaign. Im posting mainly for the benefit of one of the group members who missed this session. The next session is scheduled for 26 Sept at 6:30 pm. Session 1 The party members had various reasons for being on the road to Greenest. Upon arrival, a large Blue Dragon was seen attacking the town. Most of the town was already burning. The party bravely (or foolishly) charged to the aid of Greenest. It was sundown when they arrived. They stumbled upon a family being chased by kobolds and what appeared to be cultists of some kind. After defeating the attackers, the family urged haste in seeking shelter at the town keep which would be shut at night fall. The party stealthily escorted the family to the keep. At this point, the keep gates were shut and locked for the night. The party made contact with the town leader, Govener Nighthill. Nighthill pleaded with the adventurers to help the survivors of Greenest survive through the night of the dragon attack. The party accepts. The only thing Nighthill knows is that a force of humans and kobolds attacked with aid from the blue dragon. Most of the attackers seem interested in looting the town. Nighthill believes if they can hold out inside the keep till dawn the attackers will probably leave. The first task given the party was to capture a prisoner to acquire better situational awareness. The party was shown a sewer tunnel that exists below the keep. After exterminating the vermin inside, the party cleverly created a loud noise outside the tunnel exit gate to attract the enemy to them. A prisoner was secured and returned to Nighthill. At one point during the night, the party caught a glimpse of an intimidating female warrior known as Frulam Mondath decked out in purple robes. She seems to be well guarded. Nightill highly recommend that this person be avoided. Nighthill received word that a group of invaders were about to set fire to the flour mill. If that was destroyed, the towns people would most likely face starvation after the attack was over. The party sneaked back through the tunnel and arrived at the Mill. They intimidated a group of kobolds into fleeing before they could start a fire. An invader at the Mill is heard to exclaim, “There they are! Those are the adventurers she wants killed!”. It appears the enemy is now aware of the adventurers within Greenest. At this point, raiders inside the Mill attack the party. The party was able to defeat the ambush with moderate damage to the Mill. Minutes after the battle, reinforcements arrive from the keep to guard the Mill from further attacks. The party returns to the keep via secret tunnel without incident. One short rest was taken. Three hours have passed. It is now midnight. Suddenly, ...
