I just absolutely love this take of Riders on the Storm featured on An American Prayer. Its just so cool how the conversation hes having on the phone is keeping time almost perfectly with following the lyrics in the song as its sung quietly in the background. In so many ways the Doors, particularly Jim, were so ahead of their time. Something you might find interesting if you havent figured it out yourself already or just simply have never seen the movie. There was a film that came out in the late 80s entitled The Hitcher, starring Rutger Hauer as the hitchhiking cold-blooded serial killer(and he was awesome!) and C. Thomas Howell(of the Outsiders alumni, where he played Ponyboy), as his tormented victim. If you consider the lyrics to Riders on the Storm, the movie in many ways seems to have been inspired by the song. If you havent seen the movie, or its been a while, you should check it out. Its actually quite good. :)
