I just have to say more about the treatment last night, because it was amazing. And continues to be this morning. Yesterday was the first day spent mostly upright since my injury. The first class of the day wasnt so bad, I was taking my pain meds and wearing a back brace, and being cautious. Also, was helped out all day by my best friend and loving but firm caretaker, Kathy Perko, who wouldnt let me carry anything heavier than a pot of tea, and made me eat. Cause she is SO like that. But by the end of the second class, I was near tears, in deep pain and fatigued and just miserable. Sherry Patterson, an acupuncturist and all-around fabulous woman, who was attending my class, offered to give me a treatment in her room upstairs. I gratefully took her up on it, and she was joined by Kathy giving reiki. Sea Wolf made me a bottle of an essential oil treatment based on a formula by Amy Lee (who treated me Tuesday night after a class, with splendid results), with some of her own amazing tweaks. Part of which is that her own loving hands made it. And that witch has some powerful juju, I am telling you. :) Sherry and Kathy pulled me away from the post-class crowd, took me up and gave me a 30 minute treatment, finished with the oil. When they finished, I stood up, and assumed my prior stance (and a bowed, protected, miserable stance it was). But as I stood there, I realized I didnt have to stand that way any more, and raised my body to a straight stature, and felt amazing. Oh, there was still pain, but it was so much less, and the crying and fatigue was completely gone. We went down to the party, celebrated for hours afterward, drove home and fell asleep. And even this morning, I feel amazing. My pain is there, but Im able to move much easier, I can take the pressure of Jacks full-body snuggles, I can sit up without taking 5 minutes to do so. Yes, yes, yes, Kathy, I hear your voice in my head: Just because you CAN do it, doesnt mean you SHOULD. So grateful this morning for the loving care of talented friends.
