I just received a call from an environmental organization I used - TopicsExpress

I just received a call from an environmental organization I used to support with a monthly donation. I had a nice conversation with the caller explaining why I cannot support the organization any more. After thanking me for my past support, he immediately started rattling off his script that started with a misconception that factories produce the most greenhouse gases. Recent studies point to animal agriculture as the biggest contributor to environmental degradation and until environmental organizations begin to educate the public on this fact and start focusing on ending subsidies to these industries and enforcing water, air and land pollution laws, I can no longer support their efforts. Its the HUGE elephant in the room that no one wants to address. Al Gore conveniently left it out in An Inconvenient Truth as do almost all the environmental groups. The new documentary, Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret addresses this issue and it seems that environmental organizations are keeping quiet so they continue receiving donations from the very industry that is responsible for the most devastating impact on our planet. I know that changing ones diet is a very sensitive issue, but I think our Mother Earth is worth it. Do you consider yourself an environmentalist? Would you consider changing your lifestyle to support life on this planet?
