I just wanted to take a moment to share with all of you what an amazing time the past 8 weeks have been. I have the privilege of being a leader at Camp Zoom. For those of you who dont know, Camp Zoom is a camp at Elmbrook church for 4-6 year olds. Believe it or not, but it has been one of the most life changing things. Yes, I always had those mornings where rolling out of bed at 7:30 to make it to work by 8 was difficult, but in the long run these kids never fail to make me smile. this summer has taught me patience. When they dont understand basic commands like sit and be quiet, you learn the ways of threatening to take away snow cone points or offering candy and they listen. Dont worry though, we had A LOT of fun this summer. From making our own movie, to making smores in a toaster oven, to singing around a campfire, and begging for movie days EVERY week, i think i might of had more fun than the campers this summer. this summer was also so rewarding. When you walk into a room and a child runs up to you and jumps into your arms and tells you how much they missed you, you always get warm hearten. Or when a child tells you that they accepted God into their heart and you get to watch that child grow in their faith over the summer. They may not always listen the best, but we hope that we have planted the seeds in them. Last but not least it has reminded me of the little things in my faith. One of our favorite songs to sing is Counting on God. Its a little friendly reminder that we CAN count on God no matter what. He is the light that is beautiful. Another one of my personal favorites we sing is called Crazy. It says I dont care what people say, im going to live my life for you every single day. Just simple, plain words, but they have so much meaning. Or Every night and day I trust you. I could go through every song we sing and dance but that would turn into a novel. So if you made it to the end i just want to say Thank you. Thank you to Stephanie Howitt Dillemuth for hiring me and putting up with all of our staff craziness. I get to work with the most amazing staff and I dont know if i would of made it through the summer without them. And if you are a parent I want to say thank you for letting your child have fun with us this summer. We wouldnt be here if we didnt have campers! Cant wait for next summer!
