I was glad to see and hear Dastur Khurshed Dastoor (Udvada) with his calm, reasoned view on Parsi marriages. It should be pointed out that marriages, within or outside the tiny, inbred community, are none of his darned business, since his own family are very mixed and integrated within the major populations in India and overseas. What he is in fact preaching comes from his innate GHATHA mentality. (not GATHA!) Mistree plainly cannot tell what is narrow race and what is universal religiously. He spouts on about tradition without specifying which and whose traditions he is referring to. If Mumbai Parsis are stupid enough to believe anything he says on the religion and his so-called traditions – he cannot see the difference, being happy to see his blind following sleep-walking into extinction. He fancies himself as a Nazi-style social engineer on the pretext that religion and race are one and the same! Which religion? Certainly NOT that of Zarathushtra’s Gathas, but that of his own vile construction. Clearly, he feels he knows more and better than Zarathushtra!
