I knew this - did you? I didnt learn it until I moved to Senegal in 1999 and was forced to use African style toilets. Theyve modernized alot since then, maybe too much because they had it right. As usual, what we sometimes consider as uncivilized actually has scientifically valid reasons behind it. Of COURSE there are modern toilets in Africa, in my house, in everyones home and in fact the bathroom fixture business has made many of Senegals millionaires. Our best stuff comes from Italy and just about everyone has Italian marble tiles. Anyway, SQUAT TO POOP whenever you can, its better for you! lol! Also, wash afterwards with water and soap, rather than smearing feces all over your anus and vaginal areas. Thats another thing I learned on the Dark Continent. Toilet paper is used to dry over here, not to wipe!
