I know i will probably get a tongue lashing for this but can some1 please tell me how the hell a cowboy called Garth Brooks has reduced this country to raving lunacy. I was totally shocked to hear that Enda Kenny was now getting involved after originally refusing to do so. Why?? Ok, millions in revenue will be brought into the country but that would have happened if kenny stepped up when property tax was introduced, when water charges was announced, when morgage relief was cut, when millions of our countrys tax payers money went to paying back a loan that noone wanted, ( at least the hard working normal irish person) to bail out the banks+ builders. Once again, the head of our government gets involved when it comes to grabbing as much money from outside the country as possible but not when reducing or cutting all the recent tax hits would produce as much if not more revenue from our own residents. Also, what about all those people at home+ abroad who, having been told thats all folks, its all over, have already cancelled flights, hotels+ started the refund process. Should Mr. kenny not be out there trying to get them to come here anyway or do we really need a singer from USA to promote our beautiful country. Finally (I promise) if as his alleged letter states, GB still has all his equipment enroute just in case, does he know something we dont know, is this all a publicity stunt gone wrong. If so, in my opinion, its seriously bad taste+ not funny. Thank you. Rant over
