I know so many of my girls will agree how hard it is trying to juggle a career and a family. One misstep in either arena can cause a big unraveling pretty quickly. This weekend has been challenging to say the least. Noah has had a raging fever--like the Im almost lethargic until you pump me up with ibuprofen type fever--and I had full book yesterday and today. Yesterday I had to be in Annapolis for an engagement session and he followed me to the car deliriously sobbing because he was sick and didnt want me to leave. I drove away with a tear drenched shirt from hugging him tight and you can only imagine that lump in my throat that I drove with for a while. I got home at midnight and had to repack my car for the Nassau Valley Vineyard Beach Bride Expo today in Lewes. Done. I woke up this morning after a long night with Noah and I asked myself if this show was that detrimental to my business-was it really going to make or break me so much that I needed to leave him again. This is our only Delaware show and we really enjoy the location and the other vendors. My crew was getting ready to leave to meet at my house and I managed to get a hold of them before they left their homes and told them to enjoy their day-but my priorities have been rearranged today. My friends at DE Today Magazine, hosts of the show, were awesome and completely understood. I sat down on the sofa and Noah put his head in my lap and looked up at me and said in a pitiful voice mom, dont you have to get ready to go?, I said no, buddy. I am going to be with you today. He looked at me really confused for a milli-second and his eyes lit up and he gasped and said, You are de beth mom evew. (This is how you talk when you are missing your two front teeth.) Not even close little buddy, but Im working on it.
