I know that many of you loved my sister Erika, and many are probably wondering what is going on as far as the court case is concerned. Yesterday, the defendant in this case pled guilty to 2 counts of Manslaughter and 1 count of First Degree Burglary in exchange for a sentence of 20 years in each count. The Manslaughter sentences will run consecutively and the Burglary sentence will run concurrently with the other 2, so the length all together is 40 years. You may ask why the plea was for Manslaughter as opposed to Murder. As with any blea bargaining process, there is a give and take. In this situation, the sentence length was weighted heavier than the crime pled to. Our family is satisfied with the outcome, and we are pleased with the efforts put in by the States Attorney and the KSP. That is the lasted development. If you want to comment on here as a show of support for Erika, Tony Culp, our families, and the authorities who investigated and prosecuted this case, please feel free. Please do not turn this into a bashing session. There is no room here for that
