I love Amy Adams and I LIVED Janis Joplin in the 60s...and I can tell you this much. No person alive, including Amy, is good enough to mimic the firebrand and anti-establishment Janis. No actress can ever look, feel or sound like her...and this is due to the fact that Janis was entirely a one of a kind human being, and because Amy isnt the right personality...Janis was gritty, down home, earthy, fiercely independent, wild, crazy, beautiful, all-woman. No damned woman from this generation knows what kind of real woman she was...there isnt a single woman from this or recent generations who even come within a hundred miles of who Janice was and not one of you is ever capable of mimicking her. It is a mistake to put nice, loving, innocent serious Amy...as good an actress as she is, into the unfortunate impossibility of her attempt to mimic Janis. Janice cannot be mimicked by a generation ignorant of MY time and will never be able to.
