I love it when I get a call that a patients pulse ox is 65% and Im needed immediately. I run up to the room and find the patients pulse ox on the floor. Ummm, did anyone look at the patient? Reading off a monitor is not adequate patient assessment, and if they thought the patient was in distress, why am I the only one in the room! We rely to heavy on machines that show numbers, and forget that their is a human being attached to those machines that can probably tell us more if we just look at them, assess them and talk to them!
